Online retail giant Amazon is branching out into hair services business with the opening of a 1,500 square-foot salon in London. This hi-tech salon will let customers experiment with different hair colours and haircuts using augmented reality (AR). The salon will also have new point-and-learn technology, wherein customers just need to point at the interested products on display and all its information, including educational content and videos, will come up on the display shelf. To buy a product, customers only have to scan the relevant QR code, and the delivery will be made to their home. Initially, Amazon will open the salon only to its employees and will open up for the general public in a few weeks.
