A recent study conducted by Japanese cosmetics firm Shiseido has found testimonies that men form wrinkles a decade earlier in comparison to women. In one of the experiments, the team measured wrinkles at the corner of the eyes of Japanese men and women. The results showed that men had a larger volume of wrinkles and were more likely in all age groups compared to women. With the help of 3D analysis, the researchers stated that the wrinkles were also more likely to de deeper and larger in men than in women. Keeping in mind the age difference observed in the analysis, the researchers came to a conclusion that men form and develop wrinkles approximately 10.9 years earlier than women. The research team also highlighted that the difference in the age-related skin changes between men and women was caused due to exposure to UV rays, oxidation and an increase in inflammatory index.
