Salon industry in Maharashtra will reopen from the 28th of June under the State’s #MissionBeginAgain initiative. The beauty and wellness industry that employs 15 lakhs professionals will welcome clients by taking all necessary safety precautions. The re-opening announcement came within a week of 230 industry representatives having a video conference with Maharashtra Cabinet Minister Aaditya Thackeray.

The industry representatives assured the Government of their capability to start operations without compromising on customers’ health and safety. The minister said that the slow opening-up is only to ensure that once open, there is no case to enforce a lockdown again.

Barber Shops, Salons, BeautyParlours will operate under strict guidelines. They can take clients with prior appointments only and only for services such as haircut and colour, waxing and threading. Skin services will not be permitted presently. This rules should be prominently displayed on the shop.
